The Community and Economic Development program at the School of Government provides public officials with training, research, and assistance that support local efforts to create jobs and wealth, expand the tax base, and maintain vibrant communities.

The School of Government’s work in community and economic development focuses on enhancing capacity at the local/regional level. The goal is to equip public officials to better understand their local economies and community assets, the trends affecting them, available resources, and innovative strategies for leveraging their community’s strengths and opportunities in the new economy.
